Sedgemoor Open Championships

  1. Closing Date
    Entries will close at midnight on 20.10.21. Later entries at discretion of organiser.
    You will receive Pre-Race Information, Start Lists and an updated Timetable after the closing date, in advance of the competition
  2. Entry Fees
    Payable during Registration – on the day – using card/electronic payments only (no cash)
    a. Individual athlete – £20
    b. Mixed Team (Pair) member – £5
  3. Rules
    The competition will be conducted according to the new ISSF Rules for ISSF Target Sprint Competition, Version 2021, with local variations as required.
  4. Age Categories (as at 31.12.21):
    a. Youth u16 (b. 2006 and later)
    b. Junior u21 (b. 2001 to 2005)
    c. Men/Women (b. 2000 and prior)
    Athletes may enter in a more senior category if they wish, but this needs to be requested to the organiser before the closing date.
  5. Heats and Finals:
    Depending on the number of entries, there could be a heat for each (35mm) event, with the fastest 10 athletes qualifying for the final. The Beginners’ Event (49.5mm targets) will be split male/female, but open age category, with no heats and time only deciding result. Where categories are combined, times will be split for medals and results.
  6. Trophy Points:
    Each athlete will nominate a Club/Hub during registration. Points will be awarded to the Club/Hub depending on the finishing position of each athlete per event.
    1st – 5 points; 2nd – 4 points; 3rd – 3 points; 4th – 2 points; 5th – 1 point
    Only Individual 35mm target events will qualify for points.
  7. Mixed Team (Pair) competition:
    Open age category, using 35mm targets only
    Start – woman running, shooting
    Changeover – man running, shooting
    Changeover – woman running, shooting
    Changeover – man running, shooting, running – Finish
    To allow partners from different clubs/hubs, trophy points will not be awarded in the Teams races. If the number of entries requires more than one race, times only will decide result
  8. Equipment
    Rifles are available to borrow from the organisers, if required. Own rifles to comply with ISSF Target Sprint Rule 6.1 – Precision Class I. Compressed air cylinders with Air Arms adaptors will be provided. You will need to supply adaptors for other make rifle cylinders.
